About

Developed Women’s Imaging Center. Project required presentation of a pro forma to the Columbia/HCA corporate office. The center would provide mammography, ultrasound, bone density testing, and breast biopsy. The cost to start the center was projected to be $386,000; was given $300, 000. Results: Through creativity and persistence, was able to acquire the necessary resources to complete the project.

Oversaw the construction of a $9.3 million, 50,000 square foot, medical office building. Project required coordination of construction engineers, architects and corporate office and interaction with state and local government. The building would be used as office space for approximately 30 physicians and contain a laboratory, basic imaging equipment, and cardiac testing facilities. Results: Project on target for completion and on budget.

Oversaw $1.3 million laboratory expansion. The hospital laboratory was required by an accrediting body to expand its physical plant due to lack of space in the department. This required the hospital to acquire $1.3 million in capital from the corporate office for a project that would not produce any additional return. The project also required the coordinating of construction while not impeding work flow. Results: Project completed within budget parameters and regulations of accrediting body were satisfied.

As an employee of Terre Haute Regional Hospital and the administrator of Regional Home Care, was responsible for the start-up and development of the agency. Results: In its initial year, the agency achieved nearly 10,000 home visits and grew approximately 80% in the next two years.

By expanding hours and increasing coverage to include weekends, was able to increase customer satisfaction, volume, and decrease the expense per test in CAT scan. Also made requirement that all radiology technologists would be cross-trained in at least two areas. Results: Reduced the need for on-call pay, reduced the number of “call-backs”, and decreased over-time.
