A Painting Just for YOU

Commissioning.  Sounds pretty intimidating…and expensive.  But that’s what it’s called when you hire someone to create a painting for you.

I try to make it neither when I do paintings for people.

So here is how it works:

I come to your home or business and talk to you about what kind of painting you want.  We discuss, style, color, texture, size, etc.  This is one of my favorite parts of the whole experience.

Sometimes I ask people to email me images of other paintings that they like.  Art.com is a great place to look for images.  It gives me a good idea of what you like.

Once we decide on a general idea of what you are looking for then I get to work.

I will do my best to show you the progress of the painting, just so we are on the same page.

The next part is the only awkward part of the whole process.  I bring the painting to your home and see if you like it and if it fits the space.  It’s awkward because “what if you don’t like it?”  Well, I am not going to stick you with a painting that you don’t like so we will discuss what needs to change and I go back to work.

I promise that you will end up with a painting that you like.

Pricing is simple:  I charge around $0.40 per square inch for custom work.  This does not include framing.  So all you have to do in order to set a budget is multiply the length of the painting by the width.  Then multiply that number by $0.40.   For example,  a 24×36 (864 sq. inches) would be $345.

It’s that simple.
